Stop Paying the Waiting Tax Promotion Terms and Conditions
September 2025
Welcome to the Stop Paying the Waiting Tax promotion, offered by Tempo Limited (“Tempo,” “we,” or “us”). The terms and conditions set out below apply to the promotion, in addition to the Tempo Terms and Conditions (available here) and any other terms that may apply to you as a Tempo customer.
Overview of the promotion
Under the promotion, eligible new customers will receive:
- a $10 boost towards their first Tempo goal; and
- entry in up to two prize draws for an additional $1000 boosts towards that Tempo goal.
Read on for further details.
Who are eligible new customers?
You will qualify as an eligible new customer if you:
- satisfy the eligibility requirements for opening a personal Tempo account set out in the Tempo Terms and Conditions (available here) and any other terms that may apply to you as a Tempo customer; and
- have set up your first Tempo goal and successfully completed all our other customer onboarding steps in the Tempo app during the promotion period.
You will not qualify as an eligible new customer if you have set up a goal and successfully completed the other onboarding steps in the Tempo app at any time before the start of the promotion period.
Promotion period
The promotion period is 29 September 2025 to 30 November 2025 (inclusive).
The $10 boost
If you become an eligible new customer at any point during the promotion period, you will be automatically entitled to a $10 boost towards your first Tempo goal on us.
The $10 boost will be invested in the fund mix for your first Tempo goal, just like any other payments you make towards that goal. You can expect to see the $10 boost in your goal within 7 working days of becoming an eligible new customer (although it may take longer in some cases).
Prize draws – additional $1000 boost
We are also offering up to two chances to win an additional $1000 boost towards your first Tempo goal.
If you become an eligible new customer between 29 September 2025 and 31 October 2025 (inclusive), you will be entered into both the draws to win an additional $1000 boost described below.
If you become an eligible new customer between 1 November 2025 and 30 November 2025 (inclusive), you will be entered into the second draw to win an additional $1000 boost described below only.
You will receive one entry per draw that you qualify to participate in only.
The first draw will take place on 3 November 2025 and the second draw on 1 December 2025. The winner of the first draw will not be entered into the second draw.
As with the $10 boost described above, any additional $1000 boost won will be invested in the fund mix for the winner’s first Tempo goal. The winner can expect to see the $1000 boost in their goal within 7 working days of the applicable draw (although it may take longer in some cases).
Other things to know
Each boost is a one-time reward. It will not be payable if you close your Tempo account or goal before we make the payment. It will also not be payable if your Tempo account is suspended or closed for any reason. If you have created more than one goal in Tempo, any boost payable will go towards your first goal created.
The promotion is limited to eligible new customers only. Employees of Tempo (and its related companies) are not eligible.
We reserve the right to amend these terms and conditions or modify, suspend or terminate the promotion at any time. If we exercise this right, we will try to let you know. Please contact our Customer Support team by email at help@tempo.co.nz if you believe you qualify for a boost that has not been provided to you as a result of early suspension or termination.
We are not responsible or liable for any failure or delay in providing a boost which is caused (directly or indirectly) by forces beyond our reasonable control or by third parties. Except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law, Tempo will not be liable for any loss or damage suffered as a result of participation in this promotion.
Nothing in these terms and conditions is intended to exclude, limit or modify any rights or other protections you have under New Zealand law, including the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Financial Markets Conduct Act 2013, except to the extent that this is permitted by law.
These terms and conditions are governed by the law of New Zealand and the courts of New Zealand will have non-exclusive jurisdiction to hear and determine any dispute arising in relation to these terms and conditions and the promotion.
